No alcohol. No artificial flavour. Just 14 attempts and a precise cold-infusion technique using natural botanicals.
The idea came from a simple question: what if you could drink something that felt like a warm evening without the alcohol? Not a mocktail — those still require mixing and equipment. A tea. Something you could brew in a cup and that would genuinely evoke the character of aged rum.
The challenge was that rum’s complexity comes from barrel ageing — a process that creates hundreds of interacting chemical compounds over years. No single botanical can replicate that. So we built it from multiple elements: a warm Assam green base, naturally sweet botanicals for the caramel undertone, a specific herb for the warm etheric note, and a precise cold-infusion technique that allows the botanicals to integrate without the bitterness that heat extraction creates.
Attempts 1 through 8 were too sweet. 9 and 10 were too sharp. 11 was close but lacked warmth. 12 tasted like dessert. 13 was almost right — but the finish wasn’t there.
Attempt 14 hit the balance. The first sip is warming and slightly sweet. The mid-palate opens up with the herbal depth. The finish is clean with a slight spice. We’ve made no changes since.
