# Our Story - Nevisan Tea

Every leaf has a beginning. We grew up next to the world's best tea gardens — and decided the rest of India should taste them too.

## The Leaf That Started It All
The question was simple: if Golaghat grows some of the world's finest tea, why does the tea in most Indian homes taste so ordinary? We didn't have a good answer. So we stopped waiting for one and went back to the garden — to bring the whole leaf, exactly as it grows, directly to you.

## Our Core Philosophy

### 1. Soil and Terroir (Golaghat, Assam)
Nevisan teas are grown in the Brahmaputra valley of Upper Assam. The region's unique clay-rich alluvial soil, extreme humidity (averaging 80% year-round), and seasonal temperature variation place the tea plants under a gentle natural stress. This forces them to develop complex, aromatic defensive compounds that translate directly into deep, rich flavors in the cup.

### 2. Hand-Plucking & Standard
We practice selective plucking. Only the "two leaves and a bud" are hand-harvested by experienced pluckers. This represents the absolute peak of the plant's nutritional and flavor density.

### 3. Anaerobic & Cold-Infusion Processing
For specialized blends (like our GABA Oolong and Rum/Whiskey Green Teas), we utilize precise processing methods:
* **Anaerobic Processing**: Oolong leaves are oxidized in a nitrogen-rich, oxygen-free environment. This biochemical reaction naturally amplifies the GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) content by 4 to 10 times, supporting sleep and stress relief.
* **Cold-Infusion Infusions**: To infuse botanicals (like Spearmint, Lemongrass, and Chamomile) without heat-induced bitterness, we use cold-infusion techniques that let the natural oils and aroma bind naturally to the whole green tea leaf.

By choosing single-origin tea from one garden, we eliminate blending. Packaging displays complete traceability:
