Ingredients and seal
First, read the ingredient declaration. A flavoured blend is not automatically adulterated. Second, inspect the packaging when it arrives: check that the seal is intact and the pack matches what you ordered.
Dates and seller
Third, check the batch and date information. Fourth, buy from a seller you can contact if something is wrong. Keep the order record and photograph any issue with the pack before raising it.
Documents, when needed
Fifth, ask for evidence behind a certification or laboratory claim. Smell, colour, sediment, price and bitterness cannot prove pesticide contamination or heavy metals. If the pack or drink seems wrong, stop using it and contact the seller; a laboratory assessment is a separate matter.
