How to Make Refreshing Cold-Brew Lemongrass Iced Tea

Published by Nevisan Tea Botanical Team ยท Golaghat, Assam

Why Cold-Brewing Whole Leaves Beats Regular Iced Tea

Traditional iced tea often turns cloudy and bitter because hot water extracts harsh tannins that oxidize as the tea cools. Cold brewing slowly extracts natural sweet amino acids (L-theanine) and essential citrus oils over 6โ€“8 hours, yielding an exceptionally smooth, crystal-clear iced tea with zero astringency.

The Golden Ratio for Cold Brew

Overnight Infusion Protocol

Step 1: Place 5g of whole-leaf lemongrass tea into a glass mason jar or French press.

Step 2: Pour in 500ml of cold filtered water. Seal the jar and give it a gentle swirl.

Step 3: Place in the refrigerator for 6 to 8 hours (or overnight).

Step 4: Strain the intact whole leaves (you can re-steep them a second time!) and serve over ice with a lime wheel.
